As I write this, I’m excited to welcome both new and returning students, staff, and families to the 2026–2027 school year! The staff here at Glover Community School (GCS) can’t wait to see the energy, enthusiasm, and smiles on our GCS students as we welcome them back on Wednesday, August 26 for the first day of school. Staff have been working diligently to prepare for another successful school year. They have gone to both conferences and workshops that will allow us to provide the education your child deserves. Finally, a big thank you goes out to John Desjarden for his work in getting our building clean, safe, and ready for learning. John's commitment to this school is evident in how the school looks when your children arrive.
Now in the beginning of its second year as a middle school, the Glover community will see some changes in policy and procedures regarding attendance and the use of cell phones. Please review the student handbook and familiarize yourself with these changes. This newsletter contains important information regarding changes in arrival and dismissal procedures, transportation guidelines/times, and other important information. As we have done last year there will be a Meet & Greet event on Friday, August 21, from 1:00–2:00p.m. Any family that would like to come and meet our teachers are more than welcome. Student advisories and homerooms will be posted on the wall where our food bank is located across the hall from the main office.
School Day Schedule
School Hours: 7:50 a.m. - 3:10 p.m.
Student Drop-Off: 7:30–7:50 a.m.
Students will go directly to the cafeteria/gym for breakfast and then head to classrooms for advisory from 7:50- 8:20 a.m. Per handbook students arriving after 7:50 will be marked tardy.
Please make sure your child arrives on time so they can be part of our morning community, as these advisories are multi grade level and important in developing our school culture.
Transportation
With changes to the school start and stop times, there will be updates to our bus routes. We are working closely with our transportation team to ensure school days are equitable for all students within the district and that bus routes are as efficient and as streamlined as possible. As of this writing this is the glover morning arrival and afternoon departure are listed below.

Parent Pick- up and Walkers will dismiss at 3:00.
Within the next few weeks, we will send additional information about bus routes as they become available.
Recently moved families will need to be added to the route that covers their home location. Please contact Butler’s Bus at
802-754-6508 . 🚌 and let them know so they can plan.If you have changes to your child’s dismissal routine throughout the school year, please call the school office by 1:00 p.m.

Forms
All forms that previously would go home with students on the first day of school are now part of the Powerschool portal and are to be completed online. Please complete these important school forms promptly so we have accurate information. We understand that this is a new system replaincg the first day of school packet. If you are having trouble signing these forms online please let the Jen Doucet know iand she can walk you through the process. We also ask all families to complete the application for the free/reduced-price lunch program, even if you don’t think you qualify. This information helps determine our school’s eligibility for important federal funding and support.
