Students from Glover Community School and Brownington Community School participated in the 50th annual District 2 JH Music Festival in Newport on Friday, March 6, 2026. 7th and 8th grade students went through a nomination and selection process to be accepted into the festival. Students gathered from Barnet, Blue Mountain, Brownington, Burke Town, Charleston, Coventry Village, Craftsbury, Danville, Glover, Hazen Union, Lamoille, Lyndon Town, North Country, Peoples, St. Paul's, Stowe, St. Johnsbury, Troy and Waterford middle schools to rehearse throughout the day to prepare music for an evening performance.

The symphonic band had 42 students and was directed by Brownington and Orleans Schools' music teacher, Dr. Brian Holder. The concert band had 57 students and was directed by Dan Bruce of People's Academy in Morrisville. Cora Veysey, Maeva Porter, Blaze LaCourse, and Eli Lidback participated in the symphonic band while Ava Roberts and Howie Demaine participated in the concert band. The day was filled with joyful music as the students rehearsed and refined their pieces. In the evening, the student musicians displayed their hard work and musicianship in a concert for families and friends.
